BARS

Glide Swing

This skill can be done in a Pike or a Straddle, and is simply a swing on a bar that is too close to the ground to swing with a straight body.  Gymnasts sometimes lose the Pike in their hips, and mistakenly allow their feet to go back behind them.  Strong stomach muscles and hip flexors are required to properly Glide Swing.  This skill often precedes the Kip.
